About Kan Ta

As the leader of our Engineering & Technology practice, Kan brings 20+ years of legal and search experience working with Founders and Leaders.

He holds a Pre-Med/Biology degree from the University of California, Irvine. He then went on to earn his J.D. at the University of San Diego School of Law, graduating with Honors in Trial Advocacy with an emphasis on Patent Law. He spent nearly a decade practicing law starting at a prominent San Francisco-based firm that specialized in the technology sector. His path eventually led him into technical recruiting, where he was a Co-Owner and Managing Partner at Binc, a pioneering firm that incepted the modern version of embedded recruiting services for major technology companies. With his leadership, Binc grew from 4 to over 160 employees across major U.S. cities and was named in Inc. Magazine’s list of Fastest-Growing Private Companies. 
He helped lead the firm’s acquisition by Robinhood in 2021 (pre-IPO), where he transitioned into Robinhood’s core senior talent leadership team, helping manage a 200+ person recruiting organization.

Kan lives in the Bay Area, has two young boys who love soccer, and is an avid outdoor enthusiast. When he’s not playing Uber driver for soccer practices and games, he enjoys surfing, trail running, and mountain biking.
