What We’re Looking For
Hunt Club is looking for a versatile, experienced HR Manager to join our team in our Chicago office. This person will be a trusted resource for our employees and a strategic thought partner in HR policy guidance and interpretation. They will have a hand in maintaining the accuracy of employee data and personnel files, assisting in the new hire onboarding process, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
What You’ll Do
- Handle complex and sensitive employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers providing appropriate direction and resolution.
- Review policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Handle sensitive employee relations matters including performance and talent management, training and development; disciplinary action, and disputes and investigations.
- Supervise the HR Specialist and manage their work including administrative tasks related to processing payroll, benefits, leave and ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information of electronic personnel files within our HRIS.
- Administer quarterly pulse surveys and bi-annual performance reviews.
- Adhere to state-mandated employment laws.
- Update and manage new state registrations with proper tax withholding and SUI accounts.
- Track and document employee training related to HR compliance with annual anti-harassment and discrimination training.

Other Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience required
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in human resources required
- Knowledge of employment and labor laws, and the ability to comprehend, interpret and apply to perspective situations
- Experience with HRIS systems and payroll processing. Paylocity is preferred.
- Ability to work in our Chicago office as required (typically 2-3 days a week)
- SHRM-CP or PHR strongly preferred
